How much do digital marketers earn? Are digital marketers well paid? What is the average digital marketer salary in the Philippines? Of course, you want to know if digital marketing is a good career based on what you can earn. We did the research for you, and this is what we found.

How Much Do Digital Marketers Earn?

Well, it depends on different factors: where you live, the position, and the company. The Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) compared the average annual salaries (in U.S. dollars) for digital marketing specialists across 6 countries with the highest demand for digital marketers:

• United Kingdom: $43,384
• Canada: $40,141
• Philippines: $6,362
• India: $4,468

Do you feel like migrating? Well, if you want to increase your chances of getting hired abroad, consider an internationally recognized digital marketing certification. For example, DMI’s CDMP program is known in Australia, Ireland, the U.K., Canada, India, and over 100 countries.

But you don’t need to work abroad to get a well-paying digital marketer salary. Just consider also the cost of living. It’s a lot cheaper to live here in the Philippines than in North America, Australia, or Europe.

Keep in mind that the above-listed salaries are for entry-level digital marketing specialists (also called digital marketing associates). The more experience you have, the higher your salary. But for this comparison, we will focus on entry-level salaries.

Digital Marketing Associate Salary for 2022

The average digital marketing entry-level salary in the Philippines applies to digital marketing specialists (other companies call them digital marketing associates, digital marketing officers, or digital marketers). They are the all-around digital marketing professionals who do a little bit of everything.

Larger companies will have more specialized positions such as content marketers, social media marketers, SEO specialists, and the like. But for a general practitioner, we compared the average monthly and annual digital marketer salary for 2022 from different sources as follows:

Indeed Digital Marketer Salary

Indeed.com shows the average digital marketer salary in the Philippines of Php434,063 per year, or Php30,732 per month, which is based on 1,500 reported salaries, so this is a reliable figure. However, take note that Indeed does not break this down by position or experience level. So this is not exactly the entry-level salary. It averages salaries across all levels.

As mentioned, aside from location and position, another factor that impacts the average salary is the company. Of course, some companies pay much more for the same job while others pay a lot less. Indeed.com displays the top companies in the Philippines that pay the highest salary for a digital marketer (based on their database). Again, note that Indeed.com does not differentiate if this is for an entry-level or experienced-level position. It’s safe to assume the salaries below are from more experienced digital marketers.

Talent Entry-Level Salary

Talent.com shows three salary levels: low (entry-level), average or median (across all positions), and high (experienced), based on 161 reported salaries. The average annual digital marketer salary in the Philippines is Php420,000 (around Php35,000 per month), which is close to the figure from Indeed.com.

However, the digital marketing entry-level salary in the Philippines is Php342,000 or around Php28,500 per month. This is a realistic figure. And if you come to think of it, it’s not too shabby for a fresh graduate to earn this salary for a first job.

Payscale Digital Marketing Specialist Salary

Payscale.com is more accurate in its average annual salary of Php335,051 since it’s specific to digital marketing specialists, based on 122 salary profiles. And it also shows average salaries based on years of experience.

There is also a useful chart showing the pay by experience level. Entry level is less than 1 year. Early career is 1-4 years. Mid-career is 5-9 years. And late-career or experienced is 10-19 years. The amount for late-career is zero because you should have already been promoted to digital marketing manager if you’ve been in the field for 10 years.

So technically, the average entry-level salary is Php241,000 per year or Php20,083 per month. Payscale also reports that the lowest pay in their data is Php99,000 per year or only Php8,250. Now, of course, this is the super low-end, which is not indicative of standard, average salaries.

Glassdoor Digital Marketing Associate Salary

Glassdoor’s estimate for the average digital marketing associate salary in the Philippines is Php288,000 per year or Php24,000 per month. This is the base pay. It also shows additional pay of Php20,000 per month (includes cash bonus, commission, tips, and profit sharing), for a total of Php44,000. This doesn’t seem to be in line with the other sources.

The more likely average salary is the base pay of Php24,000 per month. And this can be confirmed with reported salaries from numerous companies in Glassdoor’s database. As you can see below (the list is much longer), Php24,000 is a better estimate than Php44,000.

SalaryExpert Average Base Salary

SalaryExpert shows only the average salary for a digital marketer in the Philippines, which is Php339,615 per year or Php28,301 per month), without distinguishing by job position. However, it does break it down by level of experience. An entry-level digital marketer (1-3 years of experience) earns an average salary of P249,505 per year or Php20,972 per month. Meanwhile, a senior-level digital marketer (8+ years of experience) makes Php419,908 per year or Php34,992 per month.

So now, we can average all five average monthly salaries from Indeed, Talent, Payscale, Glassdoor, and SalaryExpert, which is Php27,890 per month. You can expect the digital marketing salary per month to range from Php20,000 to Php30,000.

Browse job listings for digital marketing associate or digital marketing specialist and you’ll find more or less the same figures.

Digital Marketing Manager Salary in 2022

Payscale has a dedicated report for the average digital marketing manager salary in the Philippines, which is Php634,348 per year or Php52,862 per month (based on 105 reported salaries).

The good news is the more experience you have as a digital marketing manager, the higher your expected salary is. The most experienced digital marketing managers earn more than P1 million a year. That’s not yet C-suite salary level, but it’s a pretty sweet deal.

DMI Graduates Average Salary

Robert Half’s 2022 Salary Guide shows that entry-level positions for digital marketing specialists pay an average of $47,750 per year. Experience and certifications can help specialists almost double their salary. For example, Certified Digital Marketing Specialists can earn approximately $94,000. Just like in other fields such as IT, project management, and finance, having a specialty certification can boost your salary.

It’s the same with digital marketing. You can earn more if you have a professional certification, especially if it’s recognized worldwide.

DMI’s survey among its graduates revealed that 53% of DMI graduates have had their salary increased after taking the Certified Digital Marketing Professional (CDMP) course. And 16% had more than one pay raise. The survey also revealed that 56% of DMI graduates worldwide are earning on average more than US$40,000 or roughly Php1,900,000 per year.
