What was your work background before enrolling in DMI?
Before enrolling in DMI, I was a real estate agent selling condominium units in BGC for almost 2 years. I tried telemarketing and our job was to sell digital options to different prospects worldwide, but I did not last long because being on the phone for hours was not for me.
What influenced your decision to study and get certified in digital marketing?
I decided to study digital marketing because I was interested about making money online through affiliate marketing and drop shipping.
Why did you choose to study with DMI?
I chose DMI because they are one of the most reputable learning centers that offers globally recognized certifications on digital marketing. This piqued my curiosity and started to check out their syllabus. I found that DMI provides in-depth courses for different marketing channels to help individuals become a digital marketing expert.
How has it helped you in your business or work?
Getting certified boosted my confidence because people perceived me as an expert.
Not only did it boost my confidence, but also helped me understand the importance of adopting digital marketing for SMEs. This enabled me to help our clients choose the right marketing channels to achieve their business goals.
Since completing the program, how has your career progressed?
When I was studying in DMI, I was unemployed and wanted to shift to a different career path. To make the long story short, I landed a job as an SEO Analyst at one of the top digital marketing agencies in the country. Currently, I handle over 30+ websites and managed to improve their online visibility by appearing on the first page of Google.
What’s your advice for new students?
My advice is to do the exercises seriously because it reinforces the things that you’ve learned during lectures. Never take this for granted because this will help you prepare for the exam. Also, try to interact with your mentors during break time because you will learn a lot from them!
How would you describe your learning experience with DMI?
My learning experience with DMI is fun but challenging at the same time. Learning new things excites me because I firmly believe in the saying. “The more you learn. The more you earn.” Also, learning becomes extra fun when you are grouped with like-minded individuals.
When I started, I had no clue about digital marketing. I’ve encountered numerous jargons which were hard to understand at first, but I got the hang of it because I did the exercises and read more about the topic.
After passing the test, I made a lot of connections and got the chance to work with one of the top digital marketing companies in the Philippines.
