What was your work background before enrolling in DMI?

I was one of those people forced into Nursing during the years when there was a large demand for nurses abroad. I was a registered nurse before I joined DMI, but even in college the dream was to be in Marketing. While employers only entertain applicants with a marketing background, I saw digital being my way in.

What influenced your decision to study and get certified in digital marketing?

During the year I enrolled, digital was well on the rise. With more and more enterprises seeing the value of search and social media marketing, I figured now was the best time to take the leap.

Why did you choose to study with DMI?

I chose DMI because of the more extensive curriculum compared to other institutes and the fact that DMI is recognized outside of the country which opens the possibility of seeking opportunities beyond the Philippines.

How has it helped you in your business or work?

Seeing DMI on my CV paved the way for me to take on bigger jobs and even freelance gigs here and there. Applying for my preferred position got easier once I added my DMI credentials in my applications.

Since completing the program, how has your career progressed?

Since I completed my DMI course, I had been able to jump from community manager to regional marketing manager and am now working a regional sales role for a well-known multinational IT company.

What’s your advice for new students?

My advice is to take the classes and don’t be anxious to leave DMI an expert. Being an expert comes with knowing the basics, adapting to changes, and making the most of all your experiences. You must start somewhere, and the fact that you’re even considering this course already puts you in a better position than most.

How would you describe your learning experience with DMI?

It was very insightful but challenging. If you are like me and do not have any prior knowledge of digital marketing, the modules are very easy to understand – you just have to put in the work. In DMI, you learn best practices not just from industry leaders but also from your classmates who have insights coming from advertising, marketing sales and many others.
