CDMP Batch 15

What was your work background before enrolling in DMI?

Prior to enrolling in DMI, I was working as a freelance social media manager and content strategist for digital agencies and tech startups in the US, UK, and Australia.

What influenced your decision to study and get certified in digital marketing?

While I was hired to do social media marketing and content management, majority of my clients have asked me to also oversee and manage some of the marketing campaigns in their companies.

These included email marketing, SEO, paid ads, and web development (front end). Since my roles and responsibilities were expanding, I knew I had to study more and get certified in digital marketing if I want to advance my digital marketing career further.

Why did you choose to study with DMI?

After doing research on different companies that offer digital marketing programs, I realized that DMI-DMHQ was the best choice for me. Aside from its internationally-recognized and industry-validated curriculum (only in the Philippines), the classes are also held in physical classroom (vs other online programs) making the course experience far better in terms of class activities and interaction, lecturers’ pedagogy, and networking.

How has it helped you in your business or work?

The biggest takeaway of CDMP program is: I was able to use the frameworks and techniques from the modules. This has helped me a lot in improving the digital marketing campaigns I was handling before.

Since completing the program, how has your career progressed?

Since completing the CDMP program, my digital marketing career has improved significantly. From being a social and content manager handling day-to-day activities, to being a digital marketing consultant focusing on digital strategy, I am now on the management level influencing big marketing decisions.

What’s your advice for new students?

1. Take the lessons seriously even though it’s outside your career area. Digital marketing campaigns — SEO, email marketing, paid ads, social media, etc — aren’t standalone campaigns; they go hand in hand. Knowing how each of the campaign works can help you understand how to use them in support to one another.

2. Utilize the resources on the DMI website. Register for webinars, read the blogs, download the ebooks. Learning doesn’t stop after getting that CDMP diploma.

3. Be active on the group works. Lectures and modules aren’t the only source of knowledge. You can also learn from the process and your classmates.

How would you describe your learning experience with DMI?

Engaging. Value-adding. Life changing.
